Author Guidelines
Althair: Journal of Community Service and Innovation (AJCSI) accepts original scientific manuscripts reporting community service activities that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by another journal. Manuscripts must demonstrate the application of science, technology, arts, or innovation that provides measurable benefits and meaningful impacts to the community.
Manuscripts must be prepared in Indonesian using the official AJCSI manuscript template and submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
Manuscript Format
Authors are required to use the official Althair: Journal of Community Service and Innovation (AJCSI) manuscript template. The manuscript must include the following components:
- Article title
- Full names of all authors
- Institutional affiliations
- Corresponding author
- Corresponding author's email address
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Main text
- Acknowledgements (if applicable)
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- References
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should be organized as follows.
1. Title
The title should be concise, clear, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the community service activity.
2. Authors and Affiliations
Provide the following information:
- Full names of all authors.
- Institutional affiliations.
- City and country.
- Corresponding author's email address.
3. Abstract
The abstract must be provided in both Indonesian and English and should contain 150–250 words.
The abstract should include:
- Analysis of the partner/community situation.
- The main problems addressed.
- Objectives of the community service activity.
- Implementation methods.
- Quantitative results.
- Impact of the program on the community partner.
- Conclusion.
The abstract must include at least one quantitative result demonstrating the success of the community service program.
4. Keywords
Provide 3–5 relevant keywords related to the manuscript. Keywords should be separated by commas.
5. Introduction
The introduction section should describe:
- Analysis of the partner’s condition based on relevant data.
- Identification of priority problems faced by the partner.
- Proposed solutions to address the identified problems.
- Novelty of the activity compared with previous community service programs.
- Objectives and expected outputs of the activity.
6. Methods
The methods section should consist of the following subsections.
2.1 Target Partner
Describe the characteristics of the target partner or beneficiary group involved in the activity.
2.2 Location and Time
Describe the location and implementation period of the activity.
2.3 Program Implementation Stages
Explain the activity stages systematically and structurally. A flowchart is highly recommended to illustrate the implementation process.
2.4 Implementation Methods
Describe the methods applied during the activity, including:
- Training.
- Mentoring.
- Workshops.
- Demonstrations.
- Focus Group Discussions (FGD).
- Consultations.
- Other relevant methods.
2.5 Evaluation Instruments
Describe the instruments used to evaluate program effectiveness, such as:
- Pre-test.
- Post-test.
- Questionnaires.
- Observations.
- Interviews.
- Performance assessments.
2.6 Data Analysis
Explain the data analysis techniques used. Descriptive statistics are recommended for presenting activity outcomes, while statistical tests such as the paired t-test or Wilcoxon signed-rank test may be applied when necessary.
7. Results and Discussion
This section consists of:
3.1 Program Implementation
Describe the entire implementation process, including achievements at each stage of the program.
3.2 Activity Documentation
Present documentation of the implemented activities. Authors are recommended to include at least three high-quality photographs illustrating the main stages of implementation.
3.3 Evaluation Results
Present quantitative evaluation results, including:
- Pre-test and post-test scores.
- Percentage of improvement.
- Partner satisfaction levels.
- Other relevant performance indicators.
3.4 Discussion
Discuss the activity results by comparing them with previous studies or community service programs. Authors are encouraged to use 10–20 recent references published within the last five years.
8. Program Impact and Sustainability
Authors must describe the tangible impacts of the activity on partners, including aspects such as:
- Increased knowledge.
- Improved skills.
- Economic improvements.
- Enhanced social capacity.
The sustainability strategy after the completion of the program must also be explained.
9. Conclusion
The conclusion should briefly address the objectives of the activity, highlight the main findings, and provide recommendations for future community service development.
10. Acknowledgements
This section should express appreciation to parties that supported the implementation of the activity, including:
- DRTPM.
- BIMA.
- Universities.
- Local governments.
- Community partners.
- Sponsors.
- Other funding institutions.
11. Declaration of Competing Interest
All authors must declare whether there is any conflict of interest that may influence the publication process or results.
12. References
References must comply with the following requirements:
- Use APA Style 7th Edition.
- Include a minimum of 20 references.
- At least 80% of references must be from the last five years.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
Review and Publication Process
All submitted manuscripts will undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
The review process consists of:
- Initial screening by the Editor.
- Evaluation of manuscript suitability with the journal scope.
- Plagiarism checking.
- Review by at least two independent reviewers.
- Editorial decision based on reviewer recommendations:
- Accepted.
- Minor Revision.
- Major Revision.
- Rejected.
- Final checking and copyediting process.
- Article publication.
The final decision regarding publication rests entirely with the Editor based on reviewer recommendations.
